There was a time when mobile phones were for the elite, heavy brick like objects carried on the backs of powerful business men’s assistants. They were only used for short ‘power’ calls due to the terrible battery life (which is strange since the battery was the size of a briefcase) and they didn’t even have a screen to see what number was being dialled. Then came a revolution in phone technology and as prices came down more people started buying. Pretty soon phone sales teams were hanging about outside maternity wards with long contracts trying to sign up each newborn baby.
